Savory aromas and flavours, dense, minerally, spicy, great interplay of cool flavours from the slate and warm flavours of the ripeness, with a huge life ahead—pure slate.

Location:

Steinriegl: Very steep (up to 78% inclination) top single vineyard located on high altitude and facing south-southwest. Highly flavour-intense wines with pronounced minerality. This vineyard was referred as one of the best single vineyards of Styria for centuries
Since vintage 2018 this special single vineyard is classified as STK Premier Cru.

red and blue-black slate with quarzite

Winemaking:

Very late selective hand picked grapes, short maceration time, gentle and very slow pressing. Slow natural fermentation in used big wooden casks, ageing on the yeast for 11 months.
