The Single Vineyard Edelschuh is our most meagre Site. On top of the Vineyard you find a slate wall which shows the meagre slate. On this very warm Site we are able to pick grapes with high extract, which still have a very clear mineral style though the very high sea altitude and cool night temperatures.
Through the very late and botrytisfree harvest we get complex wines, which have a straight minerality and a very good ageing potential. This Vineyards was already referred in 1322 as one of the best single vineyards.
