Family estate - tradition - strong values
Since 1803, the Wohlmuth Winery has been a Southstyrian family enterprise focusing on mineral-driven, individual wines whose hallmark is the uniqueness of their origin: High up around the village of Kitzeck in the Sausal area stretch some of Europe’s steepest single-vineyard sites featuring extremely barren slate soils – the pinnacle of prominence. Son Gerhard J. and father Gerhard rely on traditional handcraft, yield reduction and cultivation close to nature, because one thing is clear: One hundred percent of the quality of wines is rooted in the vineyards. Marion and Maria look after organization and distribution, and Marion’s and Gerhard J.’s three sons, Moritz, Samuel and Noah, grow up amid the traditional business with their great-grandmother, Agnes. Member of the Steirische Terroir und Klassikweingüter – STK and certified “Sustainable Austria“ since 2019. |
